Reader Reviews
from the 2nd Edition

  • Lom's Words is a "MUST READ"! I have a nephew who just started college and two daughters who will soon be entering college and I found this book to full of very useful information for teenagers and young adults entering college AND their parents. What parent would not want their children to have a heads up about the "PGA (pure grain alcohol) Parties", or their daughter to to be aware of the Date Rape Drug and what it does! Angelique, Phoenix, AZ

  • Having personally experienced much of what "Lom" aptly describes as 'real' life lessons for the college bound male, I do agree that both male AND female students should read this BEFORE they enter their freshman year. There are many college life situations and circumstances outlined in this book that can be easily avoided or at least understood prior to the experience. KarlW, Orlando, FL

  • I purchased the book for a co-worker's male child heading off to college this fall. In his thank you card, he mentioned how pleased he was with the book of wisdom he called it, he stated that it flowed in such a manner it was hard to put down. AListensII

  • I only wish I had this book when I was in college! It brought back some good memories, and I could not have agreed more with a number of the lessons that are laid out by Lom. All high school seniors should be given a copy as they head off to college. Marc G, Atlanta, GA

  • As a parent of three, now all in college, my only regret is that neither I nor my kids had the opportunity to read this Book before they headed off to College. Truly, this Book should be on the required reading list for all Seniors in High School and their parents. The pearls of wisdom offered in Lom's book are clearly and concisely written and delivered with a tone which is perfectly balanced with appropriate levels of seriousness, concern/caution and humor. CPP, Atlanta, GA

  • This is a quick read so that a teenager might actually read it. It contains some gems of advice that every college-bound male or female should know. I highly recommend this one. It should be required reading for all freshmen. G. Brennan, Knoxville, TN

  • Lom has hit the nail on the head! Sending your young adult (I use that term loosely) off to College can be frightening these days. There are too many traps to fall into and bad habits to develop. This book should be a must read for any College-Bound student. P. Huffman, Nashville, TN

  • Good advice for both males and females! "Lom" covers a variety of subjects in an honest manner with a good dose of humor. He does not lecture, but tells it like it is! A "must read" for any young person about to enter college. J. Ross, Columbia, TN

  • This book is full of much needed information for college bound kids. It is an easy read and brought up a lot of things I never thought of. I have given the book to my college aged daughters to read and they have had their boyfriend's read it as well. B. Carbone, Goleta, CA

  • [Lom] doesn't beat around the bush, he just points out the obvious in a no non-sense and humorous way and explains some of those grey areas that hard to discuss. I think this would be a good read for every high school student and parent. C. Hogan, Denver, CO
