As we move into Graduation Season for the 2010 High School Seniors, we can all expect to start receiving those Graduation Announcements from friends of your own kids to nieces and nephews you haven't seen in 10 years. Of course, some of you parents will be throwing out some green for high-octane gifts like, oh, a BMW or jewelry.
For those of you looking to get more bang for your buck and get the young grad something her or she can actually use in real life, please consider purchasing the 2nd Edition of Loms Words of Wisdom to the College-Bound Male (and Interested Females) for the most reasonable price of $8.95, including S&H charges. In this economy, thats a heckuva deal!! And for that price, that youngster is going to receive more relevant information on issues theyll be facing in the next 4 or 5 years of their life, along with eye-opening advice from your humble author, than they would ever think possible.
I expounded on several issues from the 1st Edition, such as the consequences of DUIs, binge-drinking, date-rape drugs and tanning; addressed some new issues and advice on gambling, tattoos, getting credit and maintaining good hygiene (believe it or not, that was one subject that a couple of students passed on to me from their personal experiences with new roommates); and even threw in some stories from my days at the University of Tennessee, which are not only true, but somewhat hilarious, as well.
I also added a Blog Page, which is probably the one area which I need to address more fervently, especially in getting feedback on the readers' thoughts on the book, including their personal experiences in some of the situations I addressed. For instance, I met one young lady, a recent graduate of Nothern Illinois, who was the unintended victim of a date-rape drug experience. She went to the hospital to find out exactly what she had imbibed the night before, and found that one of the "ingredients" in her drink was a horse tranquilizer drug. I'm still simply astounded that guys would resort to such antics to take advantage of a young lady.
Happy reading and hopefully some piece of advice in the book will be to your benefit in the coming years!
